On Being Jewish Now

I’m honored to announce that I’m one of 75 contributors to the anthology On Being Jewish Now (Zibby Books, 10/1). It’s a collection of emotional, funny, sad, traumatic, and inspiring essays about what it means to be Jewish, how Jewish life has changed since October 7th, and the bonds and culture that our group shares. All proceeds will be donated to Artists Against Antisemitism, a 501(c)(3) founded in the aftermath of the October 7th by a group of Jewish authors.

Editor Zibby Owens decided to launch this project after feeling a sense of hopelessness in the face of rising antisemitism and wanted to do something to bring our voices together and make everyone feel less alone.

My essay, titled “Proud to Be a Jewish Little Girl” is about how I first experienced antisemitism when I was in first grade, how I experienced being Jewish growing up and how I found comfort in Judaism after loss last year.
